Record audio to MP3 files

To record audio you have to select a capture profile that uses only audio as source. Learn more about capture profiles.

Check if the audio source for the capture profile is correct and that it will record the audio you want. Learn more about the audio sources you can use.

To record MP3 files you have to:

_ Open the 'Record Settings' dialog

_ Check the 'AVI/WAV' checkbox

_ Click the 'Compression' button

The 'AVI/WAV Compression'  dialog opens.

_ Check the 'use audio codec' checkbox

_ Select MPEG Layer-3 on the codec combo

_ Select audio format on the audio format combo

_ Click OK

_ Click OK

After you've done that all audio files you record will be in the MP3 format.

Important Note: If you couldn't select an audio format for the codec MPEG Layer-3 because there are none listed then you have an audio driver incompatibility. We found this incompatibility when running 1AVCenter under Windows Vista with a third party audio driver for Creative Sound Blaster Live! Creative Labs did not release Windows Vista compatible audio drivers for Sound Blaster and the driver we installed presented incompatibility with this one particular codec.
