| Publish your web site and share files right from your PC |
Check the task tabs and see if the web server tab is there. If it is then keep on reading from the next paragraph. If it's not then click on the Web Server button on the 'Main Toolbar' or use the 'Tools Menu' Web Server option.
You may want to configure the web server first before you start it. To do that open the 'Web Server Settings' dialog. Set the HTTP port, configure security and customize the look and feel of your web site. Only users with proper logon information will be able to access your web site, unless you turn off authentication, which is not recommended unless you're sharing files on a secure local area network.
To start the web server all you have to do is click the 'Start' button on the 'Action toolbar', or use the 'Action menu'.
If what you want to do is remote surveillance on your web cam, screen, or microphone, then all you need to do is start the web server while monitoring. The web server will create a web page to automatically publish files created by the surveillance monitor when activity is detected, and you can logon to your web site using the monitor or the admin user account which are the only two user accounts that can view the remote surveillance monitor web page.
If what you want to do is publish to the web your photos, videos, music and documents, then you should know that the web server has no files hosted when it starts for the first time therefore the first thing to do after you have learned how to start the web server is to import files to be hosted and published to your web site. You can do this by using the 'Import Files' dialog or the 'Import' option on the 'File Menu'.
After you have started the web server and your web site is on-line it's recommended that you test it on the browser and at the same time verify the real-time usage log and know who has accessed what and when.
Note that your authenticated visitors can access your files from anywhere in the world if you have a public IP address. Learn more about how your IP address can change the way you share files.
Important Note: 1AVCenter's web server does not support code execution and uses state-of-the-art security so that you don't have to worry about your files being infected with malicious code like adware, spyware, malware or such. Also, remote automation to send e-mails or any other task is not possible again because 1AVCenter's web server does not support code execution.
Note also that 1AVCenter does not connect to external IP addresses because as a server it will open a network port on your computer to listen to incoming clients therefore If you use Windows Firewall or any other personal firewall and you try to run 1AVCenter's web server for the first time you will get a question of whether to allow network access to the program or not and you should answer 'Yes' because otherwise the web server won't run at all.
Note that you can also change authentication and look and feel of the web site while it's running.
If you want to invite people to your web site you can send e-mails containing your web site address so that they can visit it.
