You don't have to worry about how many images will be captured if you're monitoring an area with lots of activity because the images are captured directly in compressed JPG format and even if thousands of them were captured they wouldn't represent important disk space.

The quality used to captured images is configured on the 'Profile Settings' dialog bellow the 'Video device' list box.
