The volume of my audio recordings
is low |
This happens because the
reproduction dB level is low.
Windows has two mixers, one for reproduction, and the other for recording.
The dB level of a recording audio-line can only go so far if the reproduction dB level is low. They are dependant on each other.
If the reproduction dB level of an audio-line is at 10%, and you set the recording dB level to 100%, you will be in fact having a total dB level of 10% of the full capacity.
If the reproduction dB level of an audio-line is at 100%, and you set the recording dB level to 50%, you will be in fact having a total dB level of 50% of the full capacity.
So, if your recordings are coming out with a low dB level, follow these steps:
_ Open the 'Profile Settings' dialog.
_ Click the 'Mixer' button.
_ Select the 'Reproduction' option.
_ Windows reproduction mixer opens. Increase the dB level of the selected audio-line. To solve this issue at once set the reproduction volume to the maximum. If you're running Windows Vista click here to learn more about audio in Vista.
_ Click the OK button.
_ Record another track and verify the recorded dB level. If it's still low repeat these steps.
