| Record video from external devices: camcorder, micro camera, vcr, etc... |
1AVCenter allows you capture video from DV camcorder through IEEE 1394 'FireWire' interface or any analog video source (e.g. TV tuner card, video card, web cam, etc.).
If 1AVCenter finds a capture card such as a TV card installed it will automatically create profiles for it. For example, if the manufacturer of the TV card is 'LifeView' then 1AVCenter will create a profile for you called 'Record A/V from LifeView'. For a FireWire connected Camcorder it's possible 1AVCenter has already created a profile for it. So, open the 'Profile Selector' or click the 'Profile Toolbar' on the 'Record A/V from <DV camcorder>' profile or select it from the 'Profile Menu' 'Switch To' option.
If you don't know how to connect the device and make it work inside 1AVCenter then read these instructions on how to connect external video devices.
If there are no profiles for the video device that is connected and working then learn how to create a new profile and how to change a/v sources for profiles.
Once connected and working:
_ The capture window will be showing the contents of the DV camcorder.
_ Open 'Record Settings' if you intend to change compression or other options.
_ Use the DV camcorder to capture video or replay a video already recorded.
_ Click on 1AVCenter's 'Record Action Toolbar' 'Record' button to start recording.
_ Click on 1AVCenter's 'Record Action Toolbar' 'Stop' button to stop recording.
Repeat this process as many times as you want.
The same simple process also applies to any other analog video source.
