In the first layer also called the capture layer you can select any combination of audio and video sources available on the computer. You can also select only audio or only video or combine audio and video to form the capture source.

The second layer also called the task layer will use the capture layer to record, broadcast, monitor or grab and upload images regardless of the sources that the capture layer is using.

The web server and the SMTP and FTP clients run independently from the capture and task layer therefore they work with or without capture.
